Sport

Health and fitness is an important thing at Cronulla South Public School and the school's location next to the Pacific Ocean reminds of the importance of fitness and vitality. Notwithstanding the importance of having a healthy lifestyle, sport is part of our school's DNA with greats like Glenn McGrath having attended the school in the past. We see sport as a pathway to developing teamwork, fitness, agility and as a tool to generate positive energy that leads to great learning.

Cronulla South Public School offers and takes part in a number of initiatives designed to develop sporting skills, integrate it with our Personal Development, Health and Physical Education syllabus as well as allow students to participate competitively though respectfully in a range of sports to develop values. These start in Kindergarten and flow through the years with Got Game (a tabloid sports program), Year 2 swim scheme, Primary School Sports Association and associated interschool sport and sporting carnivals. We are proud supporters of our local lifesaving and surf clubs and participate where we can is days to support surf awareness. The Premiers Sporting Challenge is an important yearly program and we get involved with our local high schools to develop an awareness of sports.
