Our high potential and gifted education opportunities at Cronulla South Public School
STEM Challenges
High-quality Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs play a vital role in helping students develop their creative and critical thinking skills, extending their knowledge beyond the classroom.
Our schools’ integration of STEM programs includes dedicated activities such as coding, robotics, engineering challenges, and digital technologies. This hands-on approach not only strengthens students’ understanding of fundamental STEM concepts but also cultivates adaptability and innovation, empowering them to confidently navigate and contribute to emerging industries.
Public Speaking and Debating
Our public speaking and debating programs cultivate students’ speech-writing and oral presentation skills, enhancing their confidence and communication abilities. Students in K-6 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitions, allowing them to apply and refine these skills in real-world settings.
Students from Cronulla South Public School were recently successful in gaining entry into the NSW Public Speaking finals.
Mathematics Enrichment programs
Our mathematics enrichment programs, including Maths Olympiad are designed to provide students with unique learning experiences which promote problem solving and reasoning skills. The program is designed to extend students beyond the normal curriculum.
Spelling Bee
The NSW Premier's Spelling Bee is an engaging way for NSW public primary school students to expand their vocabularies and improve their spelling. Designed for Stage 2 and 3, Stage 1 students are welcome to participate.
The program includes activities that encourage students to become more confident users of language through broadening their vocabulary, and promotes improved literacy skills.
'Your Write' Enrichment Program
This program aims to ignite the passion for writing and foster a love for the craft. Students in 3-6 had the opportunity to engage with local authors and submit a piece of their writing for the 'Write On' Writing competition, allowing them to showcase their creativity and gain recognition for their work.
